It was such a pleasure being a guest on Dr. Jean Farish's "Love Light" show on Voice America.

Below you will find both the February 2020 and July 2021 shows.  On each show, Jean highlights three of my original songs, with the exception of "Mississippi in Me" which is written by Sheila Hutcherson and Linda Way.  On that song, I do lead and backup vocals and guitar. Amy Lott does the beautiful flute work.

My greatest rewards as a singer/songwriter have come from working in classrooms all over the state. Music is the Universal Language.

I was so honored to perform “I’ll Be Rested” during “Stories from Civil Rights History, Then and Now” at historic First Union Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS on June 23.
Adapted by Mavis Staples and Ry Cooder, “I’ll Be Rested” calls out fallen soldiers of the Civil Rights Movement, from Meridian and Mississippi and across the nation. Author Susan Follett (The Fog Machine)  included it in the “Stories” events to honor those fallen soldiers. Listen for the names added by attendees.

Here is a sample of Open Mic in Meridian where we are able to try out new songs without intimidation, allowing songwriters the ability to revisit their lyrics, sound and delivery for revision.  So I'm daring to share two raw new originals on my site to practice what I preach.  Dare to be fearless, dare to put yourself out there, dare to make mistakes, dare to be objective about your work. Revision IS writing, in any category or genre.   Hope to share the final versions soon! (Find the final version of Uniform under "Solo Performance."

The annual Highway 80 Songwriters Fest! It was about more than entertainment.
It was about growing community and business and growing territory for the songwriter. Read more   here
